Kessler Park

This beautiful Kessler Park home has an architectural and landscaping personality compatible with its hilly, wooded neighborhood. The owner had an overall vision for the property, but gave Pautz Landscapes plenty of creative latitude. Starting with the basic plantings in place, we designed a landscape that, like the house itself (which has been featured in regional and national shelter magazines), was an orchestration of eclectic elements with Asian themes throughout, including a variety of Japanese maples, chosen for their forms and changing colors, and a pumice stone bowl from Indonesia.

This landscape evolved over a period of time, just as its personality evolves in ways subtle and dramatic from season to season, even hour by hour as sunlight flows over the layers of plantings illuminating shades of green, textures, colors, and the art, water features and flagstone paths. Accent lighting adds drama and beauty to the night and reveals yet another personality of the landscape.

[This home and Pautz Landscapes’ work were featured in the September 2008 issue of Papercity, a Dallas fashion/style/social magazine. The story praised the home and the Pautz landscape as a “mod masterpiece.”]
